Chintakaya Thota Koora Pappu Recipe

Chintakaya Thota Koora Pappu is widely popular in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is also used as a side dish during lunch and dinner. Here is the recipe in detail for you. This can be cooked under 30 minutes to be precise.

Ingredients Required for cooking Chintakaya Thota Koora Pappu :
  • Gently washed Thota koora leaves which are chopped into fine pieces
  • 4 pieces of green tamarind
  • 1 tea glass of toor dal soaked in water for 10 minutes
  • 5 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera seeds
  • 10 green chillies chopped into two pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon urad dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon chana dal
  • curry leaves
  • 1 glass water
  • 5 garlic pieces
  • 3 red chillies chopped into two pieces
  • 1 onion chopped into small pieces
Preparation Method Chintakaya Thota Koora Pappu:

Initially bowl the green tamarind pieces with water and extract pulp from it and keep them aside.Now take a pressure cooker and put the soaked toor dal into it, add glass full of water & thota koora leaves and also add 1 tablespoon of oil, turmeric powder, green chillies, onion pieces and close the lid and wait for 4 vessels to come. Now turn off the stove and mix gently and add green tamarind juice and add salt and keep them aside.

Now take a bowl and pour four tablespoons of oil , wait for 5 seconds and add mustard seeds , turmeric seeds , crushed garlic pieces , red chilli pieces , urad dal , chana dal , curry leaves into it and wait for 5 minutes , now switch off the stove and add this mixture into the dal;s bowl and mix gently, very tasty dal is ready to serve . Serve this in combination with rice and rotis. It tastes yummy and looks colourful.
